The Institute supports scholars and academics to conduct research and study various topics by providing opportunities to go out into the field, design studies that give empirical data on which programmes can be developed. Based on the research results and findings, future projects and policies are formed.

The Institute is currently researching Ecology of the northern Western Ghats, Community, Wellness, Sustainability, Organic Farming, Biodiversity, Food & Nutrition and Policy.
